Welcome to the UNC Department of Statistics and Operations Research summer Boot Camp course. This program is meant to serve as a refresher of basic techniques in analysis and linear algebra, and should help you quickly get settled into your first year graduate level courses. Both masters and doctoral students are encouraged to attend.
If you have any questions, please contact Carson at cmosso (at) live dot unc (.) edu
The 2020 UNC STOR Summer Boot Camp will be held on weekdays from July 27 to August 6. On August 7 there is a university orientation.
Each day there will be two lectures (Analysis and Linear Algebra) and tutorials: please see the STOR Bootcamp 2020 Sakai page for links to the Zoom meetings (your UNC email address should have received an invitation to the Sakai page). The links are in the ‘Resources’ folder.
If you were not added to the Sakai page but are planning on attending the boot camp, please let Carson know.

There will also be tutorial sessions (time TBD) after classes. These are informal office hours for you to come ask questions if needed. The course graders are as follows:
- Analysis: Brendan Brown
- Linear Algebra: Adam Waterbury
Although attendance is not mandatory, incoming students (especially doctoral students) are strongly encouraged to attend and are expected to have a strong grasp of the material covered in both courses.
The Boot Camp is a great opportunity to ask any analysis or linear algebra questions you have before the semester starts and it’s too late! Both instructors are graduate students, so don’t be afraid to ask any questions, even if you think you should already know the answers.
